ABSTRACT
The paper has following structure: In the Section 2 the problem of illumination independent object recognition is formulated. The section 3 is focused on global methods. The section 4 is concentrated on methods, that try to produce illumination invariants from information about local changes of image function. Di erent approach is discussed in section 5, where the methods try to made a model of the variability caused by illumination.
