Best Paper Prize at ECCV 2002

As part of the activities of the Information Dissemination area, it was agreed to offer a Best Paper prize to the organizers of ECCV 2002 for the best paper in cognitive vision.  It was agreed to contact Peter Johansen, ECCV 2002 General Chair, to propose that he nominate the five best contenders for the prize.  These would then be considered by the Executive Committee of ECVision who would nominate the prize-winning paper.  The final decision on the prize will of course have to be made by the ECCV Chair/PC/Board, as appropriate.

ICVS 2003

The Austrian members of ECVision very kindly volunteered to organize ICVS 2003.  A venue in Austria will be agreed in the near future.  The date will be some time in March or April.    Strictly speaking, ICVS will not be an ‘ECVision event’ as it is important for it to retain its own identity as an international conference.  However, it will be fully supported by ECVision and its call for papers will focus on cognitive and systems issues in computer vision.  Markus Vincze has agreed to coordinate this action.
