ABSTRACT
We present some recent results on the we of geometric and variational techniques to solve problems in computer vision. The thrust of the paper is that a mathematical approach to problems is relevant, without necessarily giving up efficiency in applications. We illustrate OUT ideas with several examples in the area of surveillance, augmented reality, and image .synthesis.
